The Packaging Engineering Under-graduate Program

 

The packaging engineering undergraduate program focuses on classroom instruction enhanced through multidisciplinary project-teams finding solutions to real-world packaging and manufacturing problems. Coursework requires a strong background in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and computers, drawing heavily from chemical, industrial, materials, and mechanical engineering fields. Packaging engineering students conduct tests in state-of-the-art labs which meet industrial standards. There are also cooperation and internship opportunities where students work with professionals in the field learning their trade. Students’ design projects are sponsored by working professionals who request they find real solutions to problems facing the packaging world today. In addition to senior design, students also attend various packaging engineering shows and events where they network with packaging professionals.
