PACKAGING: TRAVELLING AMONG VALUES AND PROJECTS
Images and Artefacts Interact with the Ethical Packaging Charter

Milan, July 15 2021

the Italian Packaging Institute, promoter of the Best Packaging contest and the Ethical Packaging Charter Foundation, which sponsors the 2021 edition, on the occasion of Milan Design week, organize an exhibition which intends to guide the world of design and businesses, through a dialogue between ethics and technological innovation.
The heart of the project is the enhancement of the 27 finalist projects and the interpretation that the companies have been able to give to the 10 values of the Ethical Packaging Charter and which inspired the birth of the Foundation itself: responsible, balanced, safe, accessible, transparent, informative, contemporary, forward-looking, educative and sustainable.
Through an imaginary dialogue between the shots of Claudio Bonoldi, who tells the values of the Charter traveling among dreamlike landscapes, and the finalists of the BestPackaging2021 contest, the visitor is led through a path made up of suggestions and objects and projects of our daily life, showing the planning phases and design solutions.
The result is the synthesis between the ideal and the real, between the desire to achieve hypothetical perfection and the need for safety, hygiene, protection, transport, communication and service required for the packaging.

Godmother of the exhibition, Anna Paola Cavanna, in the dual role of President of the Italian Packaging Institute and of the Ethical Packaging Charter Foundation, who explains the project as follows: “Packaging is an essential part of our life and allows us to use goods and services, but it is also always under close observation, for the stringent legislation, for the aspects of sustainability that cannot be postponed, for the continuous solicitations of the market and consumers. The excellent result of this contest is an example of how companies are ready to respond to new challenges, especially in terms of eco-design. But companies need precise rules to allow clear and complete communication towards citizens. “

The exhibition is open to the public from September 4th to 10th, from 14.00 to 20.00 at the Galleria Mimmo Scognamiglio Arte Contemporanea, via Goito 7, in Milan, in the heart of the Brera Design District.
